Graduation means a changeover from student to a fully independent nurse delivering confident care.

Halifax Regional offers a 16 week Transition program that provides a bridge from student to nurse. The Transition program includes time in the classroom, preceptors, an escalation in patient responsibility, improving time management skills, further developing critical thinking and building confidence along the patient care path way.

Transition Positions are available in the following departments:

• Emergency Room


• Medical Surgical


• PCU/Telemetry

The Transition program is now accepting applications for seniors graduating spring 2018. 

Job Summary:
 

RN: Nurse Actively Participate in a Unit based four phased program resulting in a confident supported care provider "nurse". 
RN: Nurse Upon successful completion of the Transition Program and nurse licensure requirements,a Transition Incentive will be provided, with a one year commitment.
      
RN- Nurse Responsible for providing safe, quality care for patients in the requested unit of care; this is done in collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary care team.
RN- Nurse Performs general direct and indirect patient care duties based on the symptoms and condition of assigned patients with accurate documentation reflecting care and state of designated patients.
RN-Will demonstrate the ability to respond appropriately to changes in condition or response to treatment, and communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient status.

Qualifications & Skills.

• Halifax Regional is  accepting Spring Graduate applications for our 2018 Transition Program.


• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program 


• Pass Boards or registered for NCLEX, or pending registration date


• First day of employment June 18th  2018
